Slow Rise Slice House: A Family-Friendly Pizza Destination in Waco, TX

The atmosphere here was great—very family-friendly and perfect for kids to run around and play, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The pizza was a letdown, especially the margherita, which surprisingly came without any red sauce—that felt like a miss. The Greek salad was just okay; the dressing tasted like it came from a bottle rather than being house-made. We came in with high hopes, but the overall experience fell short. It’s a fun spot for families, but the food left a lot to be desired.

Slow Rise is the perfect place for a get-together with friends and/or large groups. There is decent room inside, but we usually eat outside. The kids play on the turf area or the giant tire structure and adults can linger on the covered patio or (really large) outdoor picnic area to talk while the kids play. We've also used the private room for birthday parties because its so easy! The pizza/food is awesome, our favorite is the Texas Gold with the loaded fries as our appetizer and funnel cake fries for dessert. The Brazos location is also great, there's just a little less entertainment and play space for the kids.

Great place to get a slice and have a nice cold drink! It was really good pizza! There mozzarella sticks are delicious! Love there little ice they have reminds me of sonic ice!! Great atmosphere! I would definitely come back here again! Came back for me never disappoints!

Wow! I couldn't have dreamed a better experience. We were there for week day lunch, which has a special that is a salad, soda and a slice. It was calm, so we ate outside which was perfect. BTW the spicy meatball is a little spicy. Pizza was amazing not a thick or thin crust but perfectly in-between. The place has a vibe that it might be a crazy bar at night, but still good during the day with family.

They sell pizza so big it doesn't fit in a full-size fridge. Need I say more? Obviously, those pizzas are excellent conversation points of any party and great for feeding tons of people. Though they usually take just over 45 minutes so order well in advance.

This place serves big New York style pizza that you can fold in half. They also have delicious salads. If you get the salads "for here," they put it in a bowl with an angled side and it looks really pretty. The best part about this place is the prices. A small Caesar salad and a slice of pizza is $10. And as per Texas, it's a ton of food! It's also really nice that this is inside sort of a little coffee shop, because if you're anything like me you get tired of pastries. Love this place!

I have never had anything to complain about Slow Rise. It's my first time ordering to go, and the experience was quite smooth. The food was ready on time. Even the server came out in the rain just to deliver my order. I didn't expect it. About the food, everything was good. Wing 4/5 Loaded Fries 4/5 Pizza 4.5/5 So far, the best pizza I've ever had in Waco area! If anyone knows of any better pizza, let me know so I can go visit them!
